As anticipation builds for the release of M3GAN 2.0, fans are eager to glimpse behind the scenes of the sequel to the 2022 horror sensation. Today’s films of 2025 feature in Vanity Fair offers an exclusive BTS look into the production, highlighting the intricate craftsmanship and technological innovation that bring the chilling android to life.

In a striking image from the set, actor Violet McGraw, reprising her role as Cady, stands alongside the M3GAN prop and lead puppeteer Adrien Morot. This photograph underscores the collaborative effort required to animate the lifelike robot, whose unsettling dance moves and impassive demeanor captivated audiences in the original film.

The sequel reunites director Gerard Johnstone and screenwriter Akela Cooper, with producers Jason Blum and James Wan returning under their respective banners, Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster. Joining the cast are Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement, adding fresh dynamics to the narrative.

Principal photography commenced in New Zealand on July 16, 2024, and concluded by October 2024. The production team has been meticulous in refining M3GAN's design, aiming to enhance her eerie realism and further blur the line between human and machine.
