Robert Eggers Nosferatu Teaser is here
by Justine Norton-Kertson
The long anticipated teaser trailer to the remake of the 1922 classic film, Nosferatu by lauded filmmaker Robert Eggers is finally here. Cut in a way that builds tension and teases just enough, the trailer doesn’t disappoint and sets the tone for one of the most anticipated horror films of 2024. In a world full of terrible remakes, excessive sequels and unoriginal horror, Eggers new film is positioned to rise above the status quo with the stylized filmmaking that has made Eggers previous film, The Witch and the Lighthouse such legendary instances of elevated 21st Century horror cinema. When getting people to care enough to go to theaters is one of Hollywood’s biggest problems, this is exactly the type of film to put asses in the seats.
Lily-Rose Depp stars as Ellen Hutter, Nicholas Hoult is Thomas Hutter and other cast members include Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kraven the Hunter”) as Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin (“The Crown”) as Anna Harding and of course, Willem Dafoe as Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz.
IT (Pennywise) actor Bill Skarsgård is transforming into Count Orlock aka Nosferatu in Robert Eggers’ upcoming reimagining of the iconic 1922 German Expressionist silent film which releases on Christmas Day, 12/25/24.
