ABOUT THE ARTIST: Hal Hefner is a professor of Transmedia Storytelling at RIT, a pop artist, writer/marketing strategist and creative director with an extensive list of studio, agency and horror focused clients who he creates content for at his studio CATMONKEY. In addition to his work in entertainment Hefner is the cofounder of Nerd Horror Media and is known for his CONSUME series, a parody of John Carpenter’s They Live as well as being the creator of Heavy metal Magazine’s first webcomic Gates. “The muppets have been a staple in my life since my very first memories. The Crypt of Muppet Horror is a love letter to the weird, the wonderful, and the terrifying, This series celebrates the playful absurdity of the Muppets while delving into the rich, dark history of horror. It’s truly a pleasure to create such goofy horror centric, nerdiness to share with others. The love of horror and muppets is what drove me to keep creating these images…and I don’t plan to stop just here. I can’t wait to make more and share with other nerd horror nerds who love what I love”.
